Jonathan Parrott

Jonathan is an Engineer.  He is interested in how things work; how they are constructed, what their performance limits are, and how they can be taken apart, made better, or used in new ways.  He is a mechanical engineer by training with an MSE from the University of Michigan where he studied, and conducted research at the Engineering Research Center for Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems in the area of networked control systems, operated a protocol conformance test lab for an industry standards organization, and designed test programs for industry and government-sponsored projects revolving around Ethernet and Internet-based technologies.  Subsequently, he worked with industry standards groups and international labs on product testing and collaboration activities, worked with dozens of vendors on hundreds of product tests across a variety of network technologies.  Currently, he oversees the engineering development activities for Ethernet infrastructure products at Phoenix Contact in the USA, which makes network devices for use in industrial applications.
