Allie Prater (Trinity ’12) earned highest distinction for her senior thesis Haiti: Sovereignty and Post-Disaster Governance in an Era of Globalization. The thesis emerged from an independent study in Spring 2011 on the Politics of Reconstruction in Haiti. Prater’s project takes up the problem of sovereignty in Haiti’s earthquake reconstruction, particularly in light of the abundance of non-Haitian actors in the rebuilding process and the absence of the Haitian government and voice.
