Duke rising senior and Story Lab fellow Helen Yang describes “112 bpm” as “a personal zine that documents my experiences as both a product of being an Asian American in the South, but as someone who faces the implications of Asia being in the global south. The zine itself has a blend of personal artwork, photography, poetry, and writing. It is meant to show that there are specific strings of empathetic tendencies within the Asian American community, but also that my experience is unique to myself (re: heart condition).”
The zine can be read online here.
