Nuria, Fabio and their mother Amparo arrive at an unknown island on the border between Brazil, Colombia and Peru. They are fleeing armed conflicts in Colombia and learn that their father, who had allegedly been killed in a landslide caused by a mining company, is hiding in the house where they live.
“Infusing the film’s visual vocabulary with a striking new palette, the concluding scene of ethereal communion and reckoning brings the preceding story to another level.” – Film Comment
“A lyrical meditation on the liminal nature of refugee identity, drifting into the supernatural to ponder the everyday struggle of living with death in more ways than one.” – Variety
“Meditative and moving.” – The Hollywood Reporter
