Professor Steven Gabriel from the University of Maryland will be talking about the World Gas Model, a multi-period complementarity model that represents natural gas producers, traders, marketers, LNG
liquefiers, pipeline and storage operators, covering more than 80 countries and 98% of worldwide natural gas production and consumption. The model has recently been used to examine the impact of the Panama Canal on global gas markets.

Professor Roberto Schaeffer from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro will talk about the Electricity sector in Brazil and its opportunities for reducing GHG emissions.
