Professor Christine Folch, Co-Director of the Global Brazil Humanities Lab at Duke University

Follow Global Brazil Humanities Lab Co-Director, Dr. Christine Folch (@christinefolch;, at the Paris Climate Conference (COP21), as she attends to “how creative voices of the margins speak to larger issues of climate, nature, and environment.” An Assistant Professor at the Department of Cultural, Prof. Folch works on environmental ethics and how groups conceptualize and politicize their relationships to nature. She is currently completing a book manuscript on questions of sovereignty and sustainability raised by the Itaipú Binational Hydroelectric Dam on the border of Paraguay and Brazil (read more about it here).
