Encontro Internacional de História e Sociologia na UFRRJ
Professors Annick Lempérière (University of Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne) and Elizabeth Hordge-Freeman (University of South Florida) will deliver public talks at the Universidade Rural do Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) in Seropédica on June 13, 2016. The program is organized by the Bass Connections research project, “The Cost of Opportunity: Higher Education and Social Mobility in the Baixada Fluminense,” and the Instituto Multidisciplinar (IM) of the UFRRJ.
Prof. Lempérière will deliver a talk at 2:00 P.M. (14:00): “Democracy and Citizenship in Historical Perspective: Past and Present in Hispanic America” (“Democracia e Cidadania em Perspectiva Histórica: Passado e Presente na América Hispânica”).
Prof. Hordge-Freeman will deliver her talk at 3:45 P.M. (15:45): “The Color of Love: Qualitative Research about Family and Race” (“A Cor do Amor: Pesquisa Qualitativa sobre Família e Raça”).
The event will be held at the Auditório do PAT (Pavilhão de Aulas Teóricas) at the UFRRJ-Seropédica.
