Fredo Rivera is a doctoral candidate in Art History whose research focuses on Caribbean art and visual culture, modern Latin America, and contemporary architecture and urbanism in globalized contexts. He is currently completing his disseration on art, architecture and urban visual culture in 1960s Havana, Cuba. He served one year as a Research Affiliate at the School of Architecture of the University of Miami, as well as the Andrew W. Mellon Predoctoral Fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies of the Visual Arts (CASVA) of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC (2011-2013).
