People in the Lab

Jennifer Denike

Jenn Denike is a senior majoring in African and African American Studies and Romance Studies (French and Haitian Creole) with a certificate in Global Health. She has been involved with the Haiti Lab since the fall of 2010, when she began working with the post-earthquake Post-Traumatic Stress research group. Through that research, Jenn has been able to make three trips to Haiti, including DukeEngage in the summer of 2011. In addition, she has done two independent study projects through the Haiti Lab focusing on the Haitian medical care system and is currently writing a thesis about the history of the Haitian health care system and the role of French and Creole in the provision of healthcare in Haiti. After graduating in May, she hopes to find global health work in Haiti for a year or two before attending medical school.
