Nathan Tilley is a doctoral student in the Graduate Program in Religion studying conceptions of human nature in the thought of Babai the Great (c. 551-628), a monastic leader in the late ancient Syriac Church of the East. At the Lab, he is investigating the lives of the manuscripts given to Duke by former Duke Divinity School librarian George Ehlhardt and the role of these manuscripts in shaping 20th century Protestant identities.
