We are looking forward to an exciting joint visit by the computer scientist Sebastian Thrun (founder of Google X Lab and Udacity) and queer theorist/modernism scholar Petra Dierkes-Thrun (author of the 2011 Salome’s Modernity: Oscar Wilde and the Aesthetics of Transgression). Sebastian will be speaking on Udacity, which makes college-level computer science courses available to hundreds of thousands of students, in the Provost’s Lecture Series. In addition to giving a talk, Petra will also lead a workshop on humantiies and MOOCs for PhD Lab students. Check back soon for more information!
