“Modeling Sovereignty” is comprised of fourteen undergraduate and graduate students and is led by Phil Stern and Ed Triplett. The team aims to build 2D and 3D model-mapping and models of the expansion of the British and Portuguese sovereignty, both domestically and globally, in the late medieval and early modern period.
Each meeting’s agenda is set by the problems the team faced working over the previous two weeks: they spend the time working on their database and resolving organizational, technical, or substantive historical questions encountered in the research.
