Claire Antone Payton

History

Claire Antone Payton is a PhD Candidate in the History Department at Duke University. She is completing a dissertation on the city of Port-au-Prince during the Duvalier regime under the supervision of Dr. Laurent Dubois. In 2016, she received a Fullbright-Hayes Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship. Her scholarship is published in Oral History Review, NACLA Report on the Americas, and the Chronicle of Higher Education. She also is the creator of the Haiti Memory Project, a digital collection of oral histories with survivors of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
