Evan Donahue is a Ph.D. student in the Computational Media, Arts & Cultures program. He works on the history of Artificial Intelligence, with special attention to conceptions of “language.” He is currently working on a dissertation tentatively titled “Android Linguistics” that traces the history of what computer scientists have understood “language” to mean as applied to the artifacts they have produced and the visions they have articulated.
