Jade E. Davis

I am a Doctoral Student in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My dissertation, tentatively tiled “The Wretched of the Archive: The Effects of Digital and Social Media on Historical Photography of Black Women”, looks at how our vision of the past is changing because of digital media. I have been a HASTAC scholar since 2010. I am the regional organizer for THATCamp RTP (2010, 2012, and possibly 2013). Additionally, I will be a Research Internet at Microsoft Research New England with the Social Media Collective this Summer.
