Laura Patricia Villa Torres

Laura Villa Torres is from Mexico City and has been living in North Carolina for almost 8 years. She holds a BA in Sociology from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Xochimilco and a Masters of Science in Public Health from UNC at Chapel Hill. She is currently working on her PhD dissertation on the implications for Mexican migrant men’s mental health and well being of living undocumented. She is working part-time as a program bilingual assistant for the project “New Roots: Oral Histories”, a digital archive of oral histories of immigrants from Latin America that have found a home in North Carolina.
