This is the second Weekly Monster workshop in a series to be held in New Orleans as part of Prospect New Orleans ‘The Lotus in Spite of the Swamp’, curated by Trevor Schoonmaker. Students and staff from the NOLA based organization YEP NOLA (YEP) will work with artist and FHI Social Practice Lab director Pedro Lasch as they develop their own work and also train to become instructors and facilitators for upcoming public workshops to be held once Prospect 4 opens to the public.

About the project:
The Weekly Monster began on November 8th, 2016. Using black and white social media posts, workshops, and posters displayed in public sites, the Weekly Monster collapses different aspects of the story of Frankenstein with contemporary world affairs. Most of these image-text pieces are created and circulated by Pedro Lasch, but the series also includes contributions by others that are produced through public workshops, open calls, and direct invitation.
