Mingyong Cheng is a digital media artist and filmmaker, currently pursuing an MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts program at Duke University. She creates interactive media experiences and other multimedia expressions. Her works also include graphics, film, and web design. Her presentation will focus on recent projects like ‘Water’ and interactive installation that uses motion tracking to explore different concepts of water. Before attending Duke, she received her BFA in TV Editing and Digital Media Arts at Communication University of China. Her previous work focused on TV production, documentary filmmaking, and digital journalism, including a documentary film, which tells the story of Min Huang, leader of an amateur female Yue Opera Troupe. Through Min’s story, the film leads the audience to think about women’s independent consciousness and the relationship between reality and the passion for art. Instagram: @mingyong_art
