Cristina Paoli

Cristina Paoli, (Mexico City, 1980) Holds an MA in Graphic Design from the London College of Communication, UK, and a BA with honours in Graphic Design from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico. She is author of Mexican Blackletter (Mark Batty Publisher, New York, 2006). In 2011 she founded PERIFERIA in Mexico City, a studio dedicated to book design and graphic communication for art exhibitions and cultural events.

She has designed books and/or graphics for institutions, publishers and artists such as Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo (Mexico), MUAC-Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo (Mexico), CA2M-Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo (Spain), MACBA-Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona‎ (Spain), Mexican Pavilion in the 53 & 54 Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia; Pavilion of Chile in the 15th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, SITE Santa Fe (US), YBCA-Yerbabuena Center for the Arts (US); Alias (Mexico), Arquine (Mexico), Cosacnaify (Brazil), Hatje Cantz (Germany), Electa Mondadori (Italy), RM (Mexico-Spain), Turner (Mexico-Spain), Walther König (Germany); Francis Alÿs, Teresa Margolles, Melanie Smith, among others.

In 2014 she was awarded Honours in the category of Collection of 1er Premio Latinoamericano al Diseño Editorial, Argentina, for the design of book collection Folios MUAC; and the DAM Architectural Book Award given by Deutsches Architekturmuseum and the Frankfurt Book Fair, for the design of the book Talca, Matter of Education.
