Nicole Quinn is a student at Duke University (Class of 2027) and a Division I athlete on the Duke Volleyball Team, pursuing a self-designed Program II major titled Extended Reality and the Design Process. Her work sits at the intersection of engineering and design, using XR technologies to streamline prototyping, enable rapid iteration, and simulate highly detailed, thematic environments. At the core of her projects is a fascination with how technology can transform ideas into lived experiences and make imagination feel tangible. In her time at Duke, Nicole has worked on various teams digitally reconstructing historical artifacts, creating museum-grade facsimiles, designing and prototyping products, and creating interactive VR environments. She is an undergraduate fellow in the Artistic Research Initiative, sponsored by the Mellon Foundation at the FHI Social Practice Lab at Duke. She has also served as the SPL’s digital technology, exhibition design, and VR production specialist since 2026.
