Paperphone release!

Wendy Hsu and Jonathan Zorn have released Paperphone 1.0. Described as a “scholarly voice playground,” Paperphone is an interactive audio application that challenges us to attend to performance in our academic communication. By allowing its users to manipulate sound through 16 different presets — from Eavesdropping and Hypothetical, to Butch and Auditorium — Paperphone changes our scholarly listening practices.

Check out the introductory video below, or visit the project’s website to download the application and try it out yourself.

Congrats to Wendy and Jonathan. We’re excited to include Paperphone in Soundbox’s forthcoming web collection of digital sound scholarship!
