Erin Parish is a PhD candidate in Cultural Anthropology at Duke University. Her work focuses on post-conflict reconstruction and internal refugee return in Colombia. She has a BA in International Relations from the University of Georgia, an MPhil from Trinity College Dublin in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Studies, and an MA from Duke in History.
She has over a decade of experience working with community organizing and development, reproductive health education, and peace building initiatives in the United States, Nicaragua, Gabon, Northern Ireland, and Colombia. Her research interests include post-conflict recovery and reconstruction, human rights, transitional justice, the psychology of space, and public and private representations of painful pasts. Her practice-based interests include the development of collaborative assessment, monitoring, and evaluation tools, data visualization, rural community organizing, and project and curriculum design.
