Dr. Laura Hawkins is the Academic Guide for Keohane Quad. She received her DPhil in Assyriology from the University of Oxford and worked at Brown University and Harvard University before coming to Duke. Her research uses a combination of traditional humanities and computational methods to study the development and spread of early writing in Mesopotamia and Iran. She is also committed to open-access scholarship and digital humanities projects through her work as Managing Editor of the Cuneiform Digital Library Journal.
