Clare Woods is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classical Studies at Duke University, and (currently) Director of the Thompson Writing Program, and co-Director of the Language, Arts, and Media Program (LAMP).

Clare’s research interests center on early medieval literature and culture, ranging from establishing texts (sermons in particular) to investigation of the physical contexts and intellectual communities in and through which classical and early medieval texts were disseminated. She teaches courses on classical and medieval Latin literature, manuscript studies, including Latin Palaeography, and the History of the Book.
