Spring 2019 Fellows News!

We are excited to share the following updates from former FHI-NCCU DH fellows. Congrats, one and all!

CANDACE BAILEY (Professor of Music, 2016-17 Fellow) has been selected to represent NCCU at the 2019 UNC System Digital Learning Initiative Symposium (March 27-28). Her poster presentation will focus on the StoryMapJS assignments she developed for the Global Experience honors course. Read the full abstract here.

LISA CARL (Associate Professor of English, 2016-17 Fellow) will be participating in the Digital Humanities Summer Institute at the University of Victoria in June 2019.

COLLIE FULFORD (Associate Professor & Director of First-year Writing, 2017-18 Fellow) has received a 2019-20 Mellon Humanities Unbounded Visiting Faculty Fellowship from Duke. Her fellowship project, “Literacy and Learning,” will investigate the lived experiences of adult HBCU students who are engaged in academic, workplace, community, family, and self-sponsored literacies.

CHARMAINE MCKISSICK-MELTON (Associate Professor of Mass Communications, 2017-18 Fellow) was featured in this excellent video from NCCU. Among other things she talks about her passion for teaching, especially her popular course in Media Business: Advertising, Sales & Marketing (which just happens to be the focus on her fellowship project from Spring 2018).
